Braised Fish Fillet with Tofu


  • Garoupa fillet 300g
  • Ginger slices 5g
  • Leek (cut sections) 2 stalks
  • Corn flour 2 tbsp
  • Tofu (cut pieces) 1 box
  • Red Chili 1 unit

Sauce Ingredients

  • MCM’s Sambal Sauce 2 tbsp
  • MCM’s Gan Xiang Sauce 1 tbsp
  • Water 1 cup
  • Chicken powder 1 tsp
  • Sugar ½ tsp


  • MCM’s Superior Light Soy Sauce 2 tbsp
  • Pepper A dash


  • Cut fish fillet into cubes and marinates with condiments for 10 minutes; coat with corn flour and deep fry in hot oil until golden brown and drain when done.
  • Mix all sauce ingredients and set aside.
  • Heat 1 tbsp of oil in a wok then sauté ginger, garlic and red chili until fragrant.
  • Add in fried fish, tofu and all sauce ingredients, simmer briefly and thicken with some starch.
